Description
Padre Pio Roman Catholic Primary School replaces St. Albans and St. Francis Roman Catholic schools in Pontypool. The new school opened on the 8th September 2008 and offers state-of-the-art teaching facilities. The building is designed with a crescent shaped route that runs through the building allowing access to the classrooms, which can also be accessed from the playground. Built with sustainability in mind the school has grey water harvesting facilities and a biomass boiler. The £3.5 million project was financed jointly by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Cardiff, Welsh Assembly Government and Torfaen Council.

Photographed during aerial reconnaissance by RCAHMW on 24th May 2010.
