DescriptionPilkington Brothers Limited, which was founded in 1826 at St. Helens, Lancashire and became the principal glass manufacturer in Britian with works in Doncaster, Birmingham, the Isle of Sheppey and these works in Pontypool. The company mainly manufactured flat glass but also processed flat glass (mirrors, multiple glazed units, etc.), and manufactured pressed glass, optical glass and glass fibre products. The factory in Pontypool was built in the 1930's. Now demolished.
