DescriptionThe railway line between Llandudno (nprn 415921) and Blaenau Ffestiniog (nprn 41298), via Llandudno Junction (nprn 87077), is known as the Conwy Valley Line or Llinell Dyffryn Conwy. Formerly part of the London and North Western Railway, the line was opened in stages between 1858 and 1879 by various railway companies, with two short extensions in Blaenau Ffestiniog in 1881 and 1964; its main purpose was to carry slate from the quarries around Ffestiniog to a quay at Deganwy for export by sea.
