Craigside Hydropathic was a spa hotel established in the 1880's. It was a very large 4 storeys and attic building with towers and sun terraces. In 1950 it was advertised as accommodating 200 and having an indoor swimming pool, tennis courts and its own beach. This beach housed a castellated bath-house reached via a path and steps from the hotel. Now demolished.
