Description
Ystradfechan Park, Treorchy, was laid out in the interwar years as the showpiece park of the Ocean Area Recreational Union whose headquarters were situated in the park pavilion. Featuring a model playground complete with children's paddling pool, tennis courts, playing fields and a bowling green, it is a well-appointed public park. The bowling green was constructed separately from the main development of the park and was built for use by the Ocean Coal Company Staff Bowling Club in 1921. The green was officially opened, however, in 1923 and has since become the home of Ystradfechan Bowling Club.
