Description
Earthworks of a quarry complex and associated buildings to the north-east of Cynffig quarry on Stormy Down. The quarry, measuring approx. 90m by 40m is denoted on the Ordnance Survey County Series mapping (Glamorgan XL 5, 1st edition) of 1876, as a quarry and engine house. By 1940 the quarry had expanded to some 200m in length and a further quarry dug directly to the east. The quarry is now disused and only earthworks remain.

Photographed during aerial reconnaissance by RCAHMW on 12th Nov 2008.
