A private railway siding from the Great Western Railway's line from Bala to Blaenau Ffestiniog (NPRN 41315) served the Manod Granite Quarry (NPRN 415616), and crossed the road at this point. The steep and sharply-curved course of the siding can still be traced to the west of the crossing.
