Water filtration plant located at the southern end, beyond the dam of Cantref Reservoir (NPRN: 404685). Cantref reservoir was built in the late 1800's to supply Cardiff with water. Started in 1886 the reservoir was completed in 1892 with a capacity of 323 million gallons and a water level of 1073ft OD.
