On the south side of a trackway along the north edge of the wood, an `Old Limekiln? is portrayed on the OS 25? sheet. At, or close to, this point lies a heap of rubble about 4m across and 1.5m high, the likely remains of the kiln. No structural features are now visible.
Also shown on the map is a quarried rock face some 20m to the south-west (marked 'Old Quarry').
