Description
An excellent example of a hut circle on level ground above the marshy area N of the Afon Llafar. Although of a markedly different building style the structure is situated within the area of sheepfolds and houses which occupy the stony slopes on the N side of the valley (46047 46059 & 46082). Rough walls of stone approximately 1m wide enclose a structure with a diameter of 5m. Natural boulders may be set into the wall and in one section two courses are visible though this may reflect later rebuilding. The average wall height is approximately 0.15m. No evidence of an entrance was noted but traces of an internal kerb were observed in the NE section. 490m above O.D.
