The site of Capel Issa is depicted on modern and historical (1885) Ordnance Survey mapping. It is located to the immediate north of the adjacent A40 road, and to the immediate south of Capel-Isaf Cottage. A stream flows to the immediate west of the site. Capel Issa is situated 1.7km to the south-west of Capel Yr Ywen, and it has been suggested that Capel Issa ('lower chapel') may not be a chapel site, rather that the name may reflect the site's proximity to Capel yr Ywen.
