A chapel is thought to have been sited in this vicinity. According to local tradition a chapel was situated on land belonging to Crach-gelli-fawr farm, sometime before 1864. At that time a field at the farm was known as Cae yr hen fynwent (field of the old cemetary), but the site of the chapel could not be located. Crach-gelli-fawr farm is depicted on historic (1888-1906) Ordnance Survey mapping, some 480m south-west of Crach-gelli-fach, but is now a ruin and therefore not depicted on modern Ordnance Survey mapping.
