Description
This site consists of what looks like a three compartment sheepfold sited on the left bank of the Afon Berthen. The walls are roughly built of piled stones. The compartments are each of approximately triangular in plan and are each successively half the size of the adjacent one. The largest abuts the river where it omits a wall. All three are connected by sheepholes and central one also has a hole to the exterior. The walls are single course and ca 1.5m high. There is also a faint trace of a circular enclosure abutting the E side of the smallest of the three main folds. The three enclosures seem to overlie what appears to have been a larger rectangular enclosure now reduced to the footings of a wall consisting of large boulders. The three smaller enclosures are within an area ca 18m x 12m the larger ca 25m x 16m. 480m above O.D.
