Site Record

Heavily denuded earthworks with curving north-eastern corner and gap on the southern edge. The earthworks, located approx. 145m north-west of Gwerthonor-ganol farm, on the south-western outskirts of Bargoed, have been damaged by vehicular access, and do indicate a possible Roman Practice Camp. Approx. 860m to the north-west of the site is Fforest Gwladys Practice Camp, a Scheduled Ancient Monument (GM164).
