The power station was served by a siding off the Roath Branch of the Taff Vale Railway. Wooden cooling towers were superseded by two concrete ones, begun in 1941, completed by the middle of 1942 and subsequently camouflaged The power station, including the cooling towers, and the tram depot were demolished in 1972.
