Description
Well-preserved earthworks of two Second-World War anti-glider trenches, surviving on the north-facing slopes of Kilvey Hill below the summit. The trenches were rediscovered during Royal Commission aerial reconnaissance on 24th Jan 2013 under snow and low light. The narrow slot trenches with their neat cigar-shaped flanking piles of well-spaced spoil tips are clearly preserved. The main trench is aligned north-south and extends some 73m. One to the west is aligned diagonal to the first, north-west/south-east and runs for some 40m.
