Description
These garden walls and gate piers are Grade II listed, and enclose a formal front garden belonging to Great House (NPRN 17402). The three walls are constructed of whitewashed rubble stone, and form three sides of an enclosure whose fourth side is formed by the northern section of the house's front elevation. There is a blocked opening in the north side wall. The south wall is slightly lower and has an opening. The north-east corner is chamfered. The very large stone piers form part of the ornate centre entry. They are constructed of rubble stone, and have corniced caps and big ball finials on concave pyramid bases. The inner face of each pier has a raised stone gate stop.
