Pontyclun Institute and Athletic Club comprises of a main building with bowling green and car parking behind. The institute is mapped on the 1919, 3rd edition Ordnance Survey County Series mapping of Glamorgan (sheet XLII I) as a single building, which by 1941 (the 4th edition) has acquired a bowling green and tennis courts. The modern day car park occupies the site of the original tennis courts.
