Description
At the start of the Second World War, the aircraft manufacturer, Hunting Aviation Ltd., strategically relocated from Croydon, first to Llanberis and then shortly afterwards to Peblig Mill, Caernarfon. Having previously made aluminum-skinned aircraft during the war, it is believed that the company then produced aluminum office furniture at the Peblig works. Around 1947, the company closed the factory there and moved operations back to Croydon. It appears that the Bernard Wardle 'Everflex' company then took over the Peblig factory in 1948. The company produced furnishing fabrics, and for many years was the largest manufacturing concern in the area. At its peak, it employed 800 persons. The factory closed in 1980.
