In 1910, the local council reclaimed land at the mouth of the river Clwyd and built an amusement park around an excavated 31-acre boating lake. A miniature railway (nprn 403506) was constructed around the lake, opening to the public on 01 May 1911. The railway is the ony remaining structure on the site, the amusement park being demolished in the 1960s.
