Constructed c. 1840. Cottage with attached cowshed in line.

Additional:

Nant is a single storey cottage of with later cowhouse in range. Lean-to additions (several phases) have been built at the rear of the cottage. The original crog-lofft arrangement of the cottage has been obscured by alterations but the plan is still essentially a kitchen open to the roof and an outer room with loft. Detail surviving from the first phase includes an open truss with lapped collar originally central to the kitchen and the slightly arched fireplace beam. The plan, detail, and symetrical elevation with windows flanking the more-or-less central doorway suggests an early C19th building date.

The ranges at Nant incorporate some very large glacial boulders (with some projecting into the rear lean-to) hich give the site the appearance of considerable antiquity. The present dwelling dates from the early C19th, and careful examination of the site showed that the house does not incorporate an earlier building.

Nant was listed in 2013 after a BPN was issued to safeguard the building.
