Description
A part of the water feature comprising the ?Cup & Saucer?, the canal and this cascade, built where the water from cup & saucer exits at the base of the fall and continues from the arched entrance, essentailly through a tunnel. The cascade is trapezoidal in plan, narrowest at the tunnel entrance widest where it continues into the brook - evidently to enhance the view of the feature from a distance. The water falls down a gentle incline of roughly set courses of large cobbles, obviously intended to enhance the sparkling nature of the water when viewed through the tunnel itslef. This now more or less functions as intended. The side walls and parapet are of mortared stone.
