Description
Fragment, probably of a cross-shaft, dating to the tenth or eleventh centuries. It is built horizontally into the right- hand side of the entrance arch (originally part of the old church demolished in 1846) to the north west of the churchyard.

It is a quadrangular fragment which tapers to one end. There are traces of perimeter mouldings on the long sides of the exposed face, which is divided into two panels carved in relief with plaitwork and cruciform interlace characteristic of Viking Age monuments, c.f. Cerrig Ceinwen 1 (NPRN 238). Nash Williams suggested it might be part of Llangaffo 2 (NPRN 275602) but the dimensions are too small.
