The former School at Deiniolen appears on the first edition OS 25" map, CA XVI. 4, of 1889. It originally had a projecting gable to the west with a pair of arched windows and a single chimney stack. and to the east a gabled porch and projecing gable with two small arched windows either side of the large chimney structure. It is marked on the present day map as Ty'r Ysgol, and the building is in use as a lodge ('The Old School Lodge).
