A war memorial commemorating those who died in the First World War situated in front of the former grammar school (later college) facing the road to the north. A tall tapering granite plinth bears two tablets with the names of those who died above which is a wreath in relief. This plinth sits atop a tapered base with the dates 1914-1918 in relief, below which different theatres of the war are carved on all four faces of the chamfered edge of the lower base: BELGIUM, FRANCE, ITALY, EGYPT, AFRICA, PALESTINE, SALONICA, CALLIPOLI, MESOPOTAMIA AND THE HIGH SEAS. Atop the memorial is a statue of a servicemen in dress uniform with his hands wresting on a reversed rifle.
