Description
Buarthau is a farmstead, typical of the small farms in this area. It probably dates from the late eighteenth/early nineteenth century, and consists of two-storey house and stable under a continuous slate roof. It is built of rubblestone, the house section at the north-east end of the range being whitewashed. Next to the north gable is a later, single storey building with a single-pitched roof, now ruined, and between it and the house is a waterwheel pit, which probably housed a wheel driving a gorse mill.
