Description
Quarries at Talacre produced fine-grained, buff-coloured rock known as 'Talacre Stone' which was used for windows, arches and other dressings during the Roman period, in medieval buildings and continued to be used into the first half of the 20th century. This quarry was referenced in the 1920 Talacre Sale Catalogue as: 'Talacre Scythestone Quarry'. There is no evidence of a quarry at this location as the area is now used as a caravan park.
