The Custom House probably dates from the very late nineteenth or early twentieth century. The Port Talbot Railway and Dock Company built its offices on Talbot Road in 1897, as recorded on the Ordnance Survey second edition 25in mapping of 1899, and the Custom House in Eagle Street first appears on the third edition of 1917. Both buildings were demolished in 2012 to make way for a housing development.
