Description
The Friary Gardens were created, along with Gorsedd Gardens and Alexandra Gardens, when the new Civic Centre was built at Cathays Park, Cardiff, during the first decade of the 20th century. Friary Gardens (also known as Priory Gardens) include a statue of the 3rd Marquess of Bute (1847-1900) by P. Macgillivray, which was unveiled in 1930.
