Description
St George's church was located on the south side of Swan Street (now gone) to the rear of St Matthew's church (NPRN 404160). It is first portrayed on Ordnance Survey maps in 1919, in close proximity to what had been a Mission Church (420971), by now the Parish Hall. The map depiction suggests the church consisted of nave and chancel with south-west porch. Both church and hall have now gone and may have disappeared before or during the Second World War.
