Description
St James's iron church was situated on the north-west edge of the town of Blaenavon, in an area of intense industrial activity. It was erected at some time between 1880 and 1901. Map depiction suggests it was a simple rectangular 'box' of nave and narrower chancel with a west gable porch and south-west vestry. The church appears to have been dismantled in 1911 and replaced by a stone building raised some 700m to the east in what is now Rifle Green (see NPRN 12885).
