Description
A Mission Church appears on the Ordnance Survey third-edition 25-inch map of 1920, though the building is depicted on earlier editions but unidentified; in 1920 the building is shown with an extension along its north-west long wall, still there today. It was located on the north-west side of Beaufort Road, above the Sirhowy river, on what was then the eastern margins of settlement. The building is still in use (2011) as the Sirhowy Senior Citizens' Hall. Located on the end of a terrace, it is a single-storey structure rendered but apparently stone built with projecting quoins on the south-west gable wall, a low-pitched slate roof and simple round-arched windows.
