Road direction sign, set by the south end of the western parapet wall of Pont Peiran on the B4574 road. The left-pointing direction sign on the rectangular plate indicates that the current road (B4574) leads to the 'B4343 PONTRHYD-Y-GROES. The right-pointing sign indicates that the minor road to the right leads to the 'B4574 DEVIL'S BRIDGE', in effect a shortcut back onto the B4574. (See also nprns 421713 and 421714). The sign is pre-Worboys Committee (review of signage on British roads) and dates from between 1930 and 1965; it is cast in aluminium and probably produced by the Royal Label Factory.
