A late-Victorian Town Hall in eclectic Tudor/Gothic style opened on Christmas Eve 1892. The Cadw listing describes the front elevation with dressed-stone Gothic doorway and gabled windows with tympanae. The interior has been much altered with conversion to the NCB Club (now closed). However, the key architectural feature - the iron staircase - survives, and was presumably made locally. Period ceilings survive above the modern suspended ceilings. The Town Hall occupies a prominent site on the SW quadrant of The Circle but is now (2016/17) empty and deteriorating. R.F.S./RCAHMW/March 2017.
