The Oakdale Wind Energy Project is a two turbine, 4MW capacity development on Caerphilly County Borough Council owned land at the Oakdale Business Park on Pen-y-fan Lane.
Two Senvion MM100 50 metre blade turbines, the first of its model to be installed in Britain were commissioned in December 2013.
The turbines provide enough electricity to power the equivalent of approximately 2,000 homes. Around 3,700 tonnes of CO2 will be displaced each year that would otherwise have been released into the atmosphere through the burning of fossil fuels.
Construction works started on site in July 2013 and the turbine components were delivered to site 5 months later.
