Broncastell, an imposing red brick building, was formerly a part of the University College of North Wales before being purchased by the council In 1936. In 1940, the BBC added the building to Bryn Meirion as wartime centre of operations. It reverted to Arfon Council ownership in 1976.
Renamed Plas Meuryn, the building now houses residential flats.
