An area of former opencast mining situated above and to the south-west of Abertillery, at an altitude of about 410m. Extraction was under way in the period 2006-2009 (NAW air photos) but appears to have ceased soon after. The area had been reclaimed when photographed during RCAHMW aerial reconnaissance in 2014.
