Type Of SitePROMONTORY FORT
PeriodIron Age
DescriptionThis significantly eroded promontory fort lies on the edge of a small promontory at the end of West Angle Bay, some 130m west-north-west of St Anthony's Chapel and cemetery site (NPRN 409858). It consists of a substantial outer bank and slightly smaller inner bank with a ditch between the two. Although the promontory is significantly eroded, the features appear to be the classic remains of a former Iron Age Promontory fort.
