The historic 25-inch O. S. maps of 1889, 1900 and 1920 all apply this name to a terrace of small buildings at this location. Despite the presence of a substantial weir on the Afon Coch vadjacent to the site, and another weir some 700 metres upstream, there is no map evidence of a leat supplying water to the factory site.
