The 1st edition of the historic 25-inch O. S. maps depicts and names Llangwathan Mill, but records no discernible evidence of water engineering which could have provided power. By c1890, the presumed date of the map, the former mill may have been long disused and converted to a dwelling. Modern maps name the building as Llangwathan Mill Cottage.
