Description
The Railway Inn, Abergynolwyn was named after the Talyllyn Railway which was originally used to carry slate from the quarries at Aberynolwyn down to the port in Tywyn. The railway opened in 1865, and the Inn followed soon after to accommodate the growing population of slate miners in the village, as well as tourists who used the railway to visit previously remote attractions such as Talyllyn lake and Cader Idris.
