1. Llyn Llydaw is a thin lake approximately 1800m long and lies on the slopes of Snowdon. It is accessible via the Miner's Track to Snowdon's summit. According to some legends, Llyn Llydaw is the mythical home of the Lady of the Lake and the place from which Arthur's body was carried off to his final burial on the Isle of Avalon.

2. 'Llyn llydaw. Ancient Canoe. Some years ago the waters of this beautiful lake were lowered several feet by an engineer... In consequence of this lowering of the level an ancient canoe, hollowed out of a single tree, was found in the lake; and, as a matter of course, was sold to some one, instead of being placed in the Carnarvon Museum, or in the British Museum. The engineer stated at the time that he knew of another canoe lying in the lake; but it would require the water to be lowered many more feet before he could get at it.'
