Ysgol I.D Hooson, Rhosllanerchrugog, is a school which educates roughly 350 children aged 3 - 18, primarily through the medium of Welsh. It opened its doors in 2007 . The school was built on the old Pant Brickworks site and construction was completed within twelve months. The school is build in a horseshoe shape, 'with classrooms opening out onto a courtyard which can be used for play and outdoor classes.' It also has 'a ground source heat pump to draw heat from the earth for heating and hot water,' and 'its low design minimised the impact on the landscape.' The nursery, reception, year 1 and 2 classes have outdoor classrooms, and there are two grass sports pitches and a play area marked out for games.
