Maesygwartha is a small hamlet where the houses are mostly built along the Maesygwartha Road, parallel to the Heads of the Valley Road. It is situated approximately four miles west of Abergavenny. The houses in Maesygwartha seem to be mainly new builds. There is a chapel which is still in use approximately half a mile south west of the hamlet's centre (Bethlehem Welsh Baptist Chapel, NPRN 12247).
