The sign stands on the B4343 road opposite Tanyrallt to the northeast of Pontrhydygroes. It indicates the "B4343 PONTRHYD-FENDIGAID" half left and a minor road to "ABERYSTWYTH" half right. The sign is pre-Worboys Committee (review of signage on British roads) and dates from between 1930 and 1965; it is cast in aluminium and probably produced by the Royal Label Factory. The rectangular plate shares its tubular steel post with a modern triangular 'double bend' sign and a "For 1 mile" plate.
