Description
Cropmarks recorded on 13 July 2018 during the 2018 drought revealed a simple sub-square univallate defended enclosure in cultivated fields to the south of Trehill Farm. The enclosure has a broad ditch and measures 56m east-west by 53m north-south with a 9m wide gateway centrally placed on the east side. A broad-ditched circular feature measuring 19m diameter, slightly offset within the enclosure, seems likely to be the gully for a single large roundhouse. A large pit can be seen some 15m east of the entrance. The squared character of the enclosure suggests a Romano-British date. Faint traces of further ditched enclosures and boundaries can be seen to the north-east of the defended enclosure.

Recorded during baseline aerial reconnaissance survey for the CHERISH Project. ? Crown: CHERISH PROJECT 2018. Produced with EU funds through the Ireland Wales Co-operation Programme 2014-2020. All material made freely available through the Open Government Licence.
