A group of buildings at this location is named on the 1st and 3rd editions of the historic 25-inch O. S. maps, published in 1875 and 1913 respectively, as "Pandy", denoting a fulling mill. The modern maps name the buildings "Pandy isaf" (Lower Pandy). That water power may have been employed is suggested by a watercourse leading to the south-east corner of the group, and taking water from a sluice on the mill race supplying the nearby corn mill (NPRN 24902).
