Description
The Porthcawl and Pyle Golf course first appears on the OS maps as 'Golf Links' in the 4th edition of the 25 inch maps, published in 1943. It is situated about a mile and a half south west of Pyle, and about a mile north of the Royal Porthcawl golf club (NPRN 415522).
'Pyle and Kenfig Golf Club was formed by the golfers of the Newton Nottage Golf Club, and the nine hole P & K course was opened Saturday 29th July 1922.' The course had been expanded to 18 holes by 1925 and was re-redesigned by P. Mackenzie Ross in 1947.
