Period19th Century
DescriptionAll three editions of the historic 25-inch O. S. maps, published in 1889, 1900 and 1914 respectively, depict and name an active woollen factory at this location. Water was taken from the Afon Lledr at a sluice some 200 metres to the south, along a mill race/aqueduct to a wheel on the south-facing side of the mill. The mill race ran through a group of buildings 100 metres south of the woollen mill, and these buildings, named Bod-unig, may have been associated with the mill. The mill survives, converted to a dwelling.
