Llaniestyn is a small village situated seven miles west of Pwllheli. The village National School (NPRN 418584) later became a primary school, but a plaque on the building's wall indicates that it has been a village hall since 1980. There was a post office marked on the 1st edition of the 25 inch OS maps, published in 1889, but it had disappeared by the time the second edition was published in 1900. St. Iestyn's church (NPRN 198) is of 14th century origin.
